Foreo Luna Mini Review

Over the past year, I have really started to engage in skin care and proper nutrition in the morning and evening. Okay, so I don’t always stick to it religiously (let’s face it, we all use a face towel from time to time), but I think getting into the twice-a-day cleansing routine makes a great difference-I’ve noticed that the texture and overall appearance of my skin have improved since then and I’ve noticed that my skin

That being said, I was delighted to try a new device that can help with cleaning, the foreo luna Mini cleaning device*. I’ve tried a cleaning brush in the past and had a lot of fun using it, so I really wanted to try it out to see if I liked it as much. It’s worth pointing out that my skin is sensitive, but apart from the strange hormonal rash, I’m lucky that my skin is quite fair. However, sensitivity is a big problem, and when I use products with strong chemical mixtures or something too abrasive on the face, my skin burns and turns bright red. It may be worth remembering this when you read this review.

The initial thing I should mention about the Luna Mini is the packaging – unlike cleaning brushes, which can be quite bulky and heavy, the Luna Mini is small, compact and light as a feather. It is available in a range of colors, but as the girly girl that I am, I naturally opted for pastel pink. Isn’t it cute? Another thing I really like about the packaging is that it doesn’t need to change anything – with traditional cleaning brushes, you often need replacement heads every few months, but since it’s designed with silicone, it’s not essential. Silicone also means that it is really easy to clean and much more hygienic than a brush, because silicone is non-porous, so it is resistant to the accumulation of bacteria and does not absorb dirt and oil. This is a big Plus for me because it saves me a lot of Faffing and encourages me to use it more often. It also lasts a very long time without the need to recharge (it can be used 300 times without the need to recharge, according to Foreo), which is ideal for travel. Overall, I am very impressed with the appearance and design of this product.

So, on the scientific side of things, I can’t explain very well, here is an explanation of what this product is and what it can do for the skin, from Foreo himself. “The luna™ mini is an innovative facial cleansing device that controls T-Sonic™ pulsations via an ultra-hygienic silicone brush. The T-Sonic™ Technology, which allows a deep but gentle cleansing by directing transdermal sound pulses to the surface of the skin, gives your skin a smoother and refined appearance in just three days. It effectively removes makeup, dirt and excess sebum, while the 1300 non-abrasive contact points are covered with smooth silicone to create the sensation of a face, while the three different zones make it suitable for all skin types. Fully rechargeable and waterproof, it makes your skin brighter, clearer and healthier.”

As FOREO said, the Luna Mini helps in the cleaning process by passing the pulsations through a silicone brush, and it has two sides with different shaped bristles, so you can use it depending on the type of cleaning you need. There are thinner contact points on one side for gentle cleansing, thicker contact points grouped at the top for precise cleaning and wide contact points on the back to channel the pulsations more directly to cleanse and refresh more oily skin. At initial I didn’t know how it would feel on my skin, because the silicone bristles are very soft and I was worried that they wouldn’t have enough strength to penetrate my skin and really cleanse it. However, during the initial application, I was very pleasantly surprised because it is super soft and very soothing, but still cleanses the skin very well. As FOREO said, it has this nice relaxing feeling of a face when I use it. I really like this, because even though I like traditional cleaning brushes, I still have to use them in the most delicate environment and even then they can be slightly abrasive and a little too hard on my skin.

The way I used the Luna Mini is to remove my makeup initial with my Elemis cleansing balm, then do a second cleanse to make sure that I really incorporated the product into my pores and removed any excess dirt or oil that might have remained on my face. It can also be used with any type of cleanser and is fully waterproof, so it can also be used in the shower if you prefer to wash your face. To turn on the device, simply press the button on the front and it will immediately trigger high intensity vibrations. I still find it very gentle on my skin despite the most intense setting, but if you want to lower it for a more gentle cleansing, you just have to press the button again and it reduces the intensity, which is ideal for very sensitive skin. Another great thing about it is that it can automatically pause after an interval of 15 seconds so that you know when it’s time to move on to another area of your face. I love to do my cheeks initial, then my forehead and finally my nose and chin, where I like to use it a little longer because I tend to have oil and pores there. After use, you just have to press the central button again to turn it off, press under the tap and let it dry for the next use – it’s that simple.

I have found that this product really helps my skin feel much softer and smoother, as well as much brighter. I also find that my makeup applies much superior the initial time I use it, because it creates a smooth base on which my makeup slides. As for the blemish removal, I can’t really say how, other than the odd hormonal breakout, I’m happy enough to respect the fact that breakouts aren’t something I suffer from. However, it helps to deeply cleanse the skin and remove dirt and oil, which can sometimes be left alone after cleansing with your hands. In this regard, I think it would really help someone with blemish-prone skin after continuous use.
